He doesn't quite fit in his armor, so it seems.
His feet are comprised of a couple of different parts, a narrow triangle on a joint to serve as the front toe. The rear wheel of the alt form splits into different pieces, one whole section of the wheel baring flat against the ground, serving as his heel, whereas another section creates a bridge between these two parts, the rest of the wheel intermingling with the rear bumper, the bumper split and turned sideways so that the middle met up with the back of the knee. Above the knee is a coalescence of the edge pieces between the trunk and the rear doors, and the edge at the top of the vehicle, and a selection of the windows and rear windshield in the back. The knees in the middle of these two sections are small, but solidly connected, as though he's wearing pants far too large of him, and that's a hole in the pants. There is very little consideration for this in his leg design, further exaggerating the effect.
His hips are comprised of a folding of the back doors, the windows reaching up into his waist, where the front doors are wedged in, partially under this windowed section. The windows on this door are separated from the door itself, only slightly, positioned over his chest, where the headlights are. The tinting on the window can vary, or the windows can go back into the door to get rid of the tint. This is for situations where different levels or colors of light are necessary, as different wavelengths can be sorted out. The hood of the vehicle is split in half, hanging at different angles from where his shoulder blades would be. The front bumper under the headlights is compressed in a fashion so that is can wrap around behind the front door, to fill in what is left between his normal extremely compressed shape and the armor that hangs on his frame. This creates a vaguely conical shape from his shoulders to his waist, as well.
This shoulders are comprised of a very intentional inset of the wheel, so that is his shoulder is grabbed, the wheel will spin and force the hand off, as the area around and holding the wheel shoots down the upper part of his arm, ending at the elbow, which, in the middle, is vaguely similar to the wheel. The remainder of this section is mingled with the borders of the windshield, down to a pair of very intricate hands, almost childlike compared to the rest of his shape, which are very tolerant to many kinds of acids and other damaging substances.
His head is a very basic design, the helm framing a face of limited descriptive qualities, as he doesn't see physical appearance as vastly important. He can express himself, but his features are very plain. His helm is a deep red, much like the majority of his armor, and he has an optional lens that can extend over his left optic, which can be used to super-magnify the input data from the optic itself. Even when not in use, this lens can be seen poking out from under his helm.
Over all, however, Perceptor have a very femme-like shape, merely because he is a scientist forced to wear armor, a scientist forced to bear arms. Really, before the war, he was a pretty handsome mech, with thin plating that fit him nicely and melded to his form. In fact, it may have been intentional that his war armor fit him so poorly - not that he would admit it. He is a mech of science, not of social symbolism.------------------------------------------------------------------------------YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH

Personality: Perceptor is a mech dedicated to science. He wasn't really on board with the whole war deal, but he understands the necessity, and will do his best to support them in their endeavors for peace and freedom.
He doesn't understand social endeavors very well, but understands that they cannot be generalized, and as such, he just tries to be himself. That does make him a very socially awkward mech, though, seeing as he doesn't understand the social side of life as well.
He does, however, appreciate a humorous situation - though he will often ruin it with his words, seeing as he is a mech of a large vocabulary, and the ability and conviction to use his abundant vernacular to the juncture at which this terminology becomes an insignificancy to bots everywhere. In other words, he uses big words, and bots stop listening to him.
He does not like to fight, but he will if it becomes necessary, or if it is something very directly pertaining to him and his work. Even if it's a matter of his well-being, he would much rather talk his way out, or, in some circumstances, provide a favor of some small sort to get out of the situation.
He hates people who disrespect him as a mech of science, or who do not at least knock while he is performing an experiment of some nature. This is one reason he has an early warning system put together, but it is also another reason he keeps to himself. However, if somebody comes in who is actually interested in his work, he's glad to show them what he's doing, or allow them to help - at least, until they mess it up too badly.
He loves to explore new things, and his curiosity over the creatures of earth never truly went away. He is not a specialist in the biological sciences, but they do interest him, nonetheless. Besides that, he would love to find a way to introduce new technology to them - even if he's not allowed.
Strengths: Perceptor is a great problem solver and a highly intelligent mech, and is better in distance fights than up close - though he'd prefer to avoid it. He can remain calm at almost all points, even in the face of death, and is usually fairly capable of sidestepping several of the worst case scenarios he might run across.
Weaknesses: He's not much of a fighter or a conversationalist, and can be very awkward in both cases. He doesn't want to hurt others if he can help it, and somehow he always managed to fumble up in interpersonal communications...------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET
Family: None as of yet.
History: Perceptor grew up in a peaceful era, one of the greatest scientists in the era. He specialized in metallurgy, molecular chemistry, and electrical engineering. However, he has always been a bit of a Jack of All Trades due to his thirst for knowledge and his interest in any of the scientific arts. Perceptor doesn't have a very eventful past, though.
After the onset of the war, he understood that the best he could do was to offer his work to the Autobots, to benefit their cause, even if he's a pacifist at heart.
He came to earth in the year 2013, establishing his lab, and was rarely seen out and about since. He helped to establish base knowledge in Techno-Organics, but, not being a doctor, wasn't a huge factor. He has since, however, taken up an interest in Biology and the study of earth's creators, designing and building a cabinet of many different climate control hubs to store samples safely and effectively. He also has a refrigerator in it, for food stuffs that he may study, or may just keep for the spare human who strays by. Nobody's asked, so he doesn't tell.
He has gathered in his lab several different tools and knick-knacks that he keeps handy to help in construction of some of his stranger projects, especially smaller tools that he can use to aid him in complicated human technology. He can use his holoform for this, but prefers his main form. Of course, he also has a project that he's been working on a while, to help communicate with and predict the arrivals of bots, and to help determine whether they are friend, enemy, neutral, or unknown.
And so the lab mech stays hidden, having been there for nine years and still mysterious to most of the humans around.------------------------------------------------------------------------------IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?
Weaponry: He isn't much of a mech for fighting, but does keep on hand a small high-power pistol with a stun option, one of his own design and his own use, for the most part, from when he started to explore in compact, effective weaponry for humans. It is very small by Cybertronian standards, but still much too large for effective human use, so he keeps it to himself. He also has a long range cannon that is perched on his shoulder, which uses a lot of power - but can recharge with energy from the sun, a modification the mech made himself - and it holds it's charge until used. If it is used when not fully charged, it will take some of his own energy, and as such, cannot be used very often. It is, however, highly accurate, optionally patching in to his optical piece to provide a better view.
Extra: He does have a security system around his lab, and he will activate it. It will not cause serious harm, but it isn't pleasant to go through.------------------------------------------------------------------------------WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MEHanging up his lab tools and closing off his lab space, Perceptor looked around at the relatively plain room. Sure, there were shelves of random things, unfinished projects and materials - but they seemed half-hearted when the lab space was tucked into it's nice little wall cubby. Maybe when he had some free time, he'd work on a way to have the shelves optionally covered by a vocal-password protected locked cabinet. It would certainly keep bots out of his stuff while he wasn't in the room. He'd be more comfortable leaving the lab then, too.
Perhaps he needed to get a hold of an on-base artist, to put something unique in here. Earth art or otherwise.
What with everything put up for a while, he decided to take a rare walk out of his lab/living space to associate with the public that occasionally wandered the Autobot base. Not that he particularly knew the mass majority of the humans, but a little bit of conversation was welcome. He wasn't sure how long it had been, since he'd last escaped the lab, but he knew it had been a long time, and even he got a bit starved for a conversation from time to time.
It was, however, late out... Perhaps he would go outside, inspect the night time wildlife. That would be fun. Perhaps, after a while of base observation, he might be able to observe them closer, catch an owl or something. Maybe.
