RED V.S. BLUE
Many of my RL friends and I (as well as some on the site) have become intensely interested in Red V.S Blue, up to a point where we want to use a character or two here. To help out me and my lazy aft self, I'm using wikipedia to help me summarize stuff and I'm using Youtube as well as the main site to provide links to all the seasons, it'll make it easier to find each part. There's a lot, but it's worth it. And when I say a lot I mean over 100 episodes of hilarity and stupidity along with increasingly awesome plots beyond the 100th episode. All though this is a spoof based on Halo, even I find it awesome - someone who has only observed Halo!! I'm so impressed with how they've improved in graphics quality as well as engaging me in the plots that I had to share with you guys! *arm flail* According to wikipedia, RvB's first episode had over 20,000 downloads with in the first day! A link is provided at the bottom of the post.
Warning: Don't look on Wikipedia for summaries unless you're insanely curious, there are spoilers EVERYWHERE I tell you. It won't give away everything, but it has more detail than I expected.
Thanks to Wikipedia, here's a good synopsis of the series' background, how it all began:[/color]
"Red vs. Blue, often abbreviated as RvB, is a set of related comic science fiction video series created by Rooster Teeth Productions and distributed through the Internet and DVD. The story centers on two opposing teams of soldiers fighting a civil war in the middle of a desolate box canyon (Blood Gulch), in a parody of first-person shooter (FPS) games, military life, and science fiction films. Initially intended to be a short series of six to eight episodes, the project quickly and unexpectedly achieved significant popularity following its Internet premiere on April 1, 2003. The fifth and final season of the original Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles series ended with episode 100, released on June 28, 2007. Three mini-series—Out of Mind, Recovery One, and Relocated—and the three-part Recollection Trilogy containing the full-length Reconstruction, Recreation and Revelation series (Seasons 6-8) have extended the plot. It was revealed at Comic Con 2010 that Red vs Blue would return for a ninth season.
Red vs. Blue emerged from Burnie Burns' voice-over-enhanced gameplay videos of Bungie Studios' FPS video game Halo: Combat Evolved. The series is primarily produced using the machinima technique of synchronizing video footage from a game to pre-recorded dialogue and other audio. Footage is mostly from the multiplayer modes of Halo: Combat Evolved and its sequels, Halo 2 and Halo 3, on the Microsoft Xbox and Xbox 360 video game consoles. Minute sections of the series were also achieved using the Microsoft PC version of the same game.
Red vs. Blue has been generally well-received within the machinima community as well as among film critics. Praised for its originality, the series has won four awards at film festivals held by the Academy of Machinima Arts & Sciences. It has been credited with bringing new popularity to machinima, helping it to gain more mainstream exposure, and attracting more people to the art form. Graham Leggat, former director of communications for Lincoln Center's film society, described Red vs. Blue as "truly as sophisticated as Samuel Beckett". While special videos continue to be released online, the completed series is also available on DVD, making the series one of the first commercially released and successful machinima products. Rooster Teeth has created videos, some under commission from Microsoft, for special events, and Red vs. Blue content is included with the Legendary Edition of Halo 3.

Additional notes:
+ The seasons all should to be watched in order, ESPECIALLY starting at Recovery One! Seriously. Don't jump around even a little like I did oO. That's the problem with watching it on youtube...I recommend you use the official site for this reason, and that there are less ways to get ahead of the game. Damn Youtube comments...
+ Also, starting at Recovery one, the quality of the animation/footage improves drastically, I was pretty impressed honestly. Probably because I'm not a gamer xP. That aside, the plots get better as well, no joke. The humor doesn't go away, but it DOES get more serious. In turn, that only made me even MORE engaged with the screen!
+ The only episodes I recommend looking for on youtube are the PSA RvB episodes and the 5 for Out of Mind since they are a skip between episode 77 and 78.
To watch the episodes, simply go to redvsblue.com, click the tab on the top menu called "Videos", then go below the featured video to a secondary set of tabs. They are all listed in order, and again, I'm pretty sure this doesn't include the Out of Mind mini season.
