Skill: 9------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE DETAILSOptimus is a tall, mech, with the type of broad shoulders and physic that, in a human, would make a lot of girls swoon. His design, past there, is very straightforward. He's not the kind of mech to waste time on details. His face is merely composed of two eyes and a mouth, making his battle mask much more impressive, despite the fact that he would prefer to avoid combat. He has a very super-hero-esk figure, with a big chest, burly arms, and well 'muscled' legs to match, making him appear as a very stereotypical, but still totally awesome, leader.------------------------------------------------------------------------------YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH
Likes:
- Being at peace with himself and others, or just at peace in general.
- Being around the other Autobots. They respect him not only as a leader, but as a friend, and he likes to be able to return that same respect, be it in whatever form.
- The planet earth. Despite their primitive ideas and technologies, it is a beautiful planet and he only hopes that he can defend it and come to a mutual trust foundation with the species on it.
- The stars. They've always been something of fascination to him, even before his entire life was left behind on a dead planet amongst them. There are so many mysteries out there, unsolved even by them.
- A chance to be himself - the laid back mech he really is, interested in learning new things and making a change for the better - without war.
Dislikes:
- Megatron and the Decepticons. Even though they are brothers of a sort, Megatron is a highly corrupted being that stands against everything Optimus stands for, and his Decepticons often are not much better.
- Confrontation of any sort. He might be good at fighting, be it verbally or physically, but he prefers to settle things in a much more civilized manner.
- Slavery, mind control, blackmail, etc. Anything that can be used to force another entity to one person's will. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, as one might hear him say, and any infringement of that freedom makes him frown, unless it's voluntary.
- Being forced to make hard decisions, especially if he is later questioned about those hard decisions. It isn't easy being a leader during war, and others often fail to understand the options involved, the choices and sacrifices each person is forced to make.
- Seeing the toll that war takes on his troops and those innocent to the war. He is a huge advocate of peace, and seeing what the war is doing hurts him deeply, be it an emotional effect, a physical effect, or something else. He is also afraid of how the war will affect bots and humans in the future, and sometimes his worry gets the best of him.
Personality: Optimus can be seen by the outsider as a slightly callus mech, devoid of emotion as he orders troops again and again into unfortunate circumstances. This observation could not be more wrong. Optimus Prime is an emotional mech at spark, who has a very strong sense of right and wrong and does his best to stick to his moral compass, despite the universe seeming to constantly work against his goals. He can get overwhelmed at times, but he does his best not to show it, keeping his personal feelings closed in in favor of the war. It is his friends and allies that usually keep him afloat, along with the occasional lecture from one of his oldest friends, Ratchet.
He is, however, a very strong leader, able to put himself aside for the greater good of the Autobot cause and the humans now trapped in the war, balancing the positives and negatives of everything he does as he tiptoes through diplomatic relations. Optimus will rarely lose his cool, and when he does, you'd better watch out. He can be scary intimidating to bots or humans, merely because he very, very rarely gets angry.
In fact, he is often noted for his infinite patience and ability to absorb information. He is a very dignified mech with a very silent personality. He is also, however, very dangerous to have on your bad side.
He is an excellent warrior, but tends to put himself in risky situations to keep others out of them, often bringing himself close to death for the greater good. He would rather place himself at risk than his team mates.
Optimus is one of the best leaders the Autobots could possibly have, and his leadership weighs heavily on him emotionally. He is, however, a very friendly, compassionate mech, and a good ally to have on your side.
Strengths: Optimus is an excellent fighter, diplomat, and leader. There isn't much that Optimus isn't good at, and he does his best to lead the Autobots to victory, whilst retaining the morals and standards of a free life.
Weaknesses: Optimus tends to get a bit ahead of himself at times, having to worry about bots that try to take care of things themselves and the ones who aren't sure about their value, and occasionally puts himself in dangerous situations in order to protect his team.------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET
Family: None Known
History: Optimus was originally nothing more than the file clerk known as Orion Pax. He studied history for a long time, but eventually realized that inequalities in the present made it impossible for everybody to live freely, and he sought to change that. During this time, he met a gladiator, Megatron, who also believe that there were wrongs in the system. However, Megatron wished to correct them through force, whereas Optimus believed it was only peace that would achieve their goals. When Orion was named Prime, Megatron became outraged, and thus the war began.
In Megatron's aim to take over, he managed to poison the planet's core. Orion's search for the core completed his transformation into a Prime and gave him the Matrix of Leadership. Cybertron was soon abandoned, the war coming to earth.
After a great many battles, Optimus is forced to give up on bringing Megatron around to the side of peace, and tension between the two leaders finally reaches the 'One Shall Rise, One Shall Fall' state. However, in an attempt to stop Unicron from destroying the earth from the inside out, Optimus lost his memory, believing himself to be Orion Pax.
He now knows who he is and has regained most of his memory as he leads against Megatron still today.------------------------------------------------------------------------------IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?
Weaponry: Optimus has twin blades stowed in his arms and blasters there as well, all very impressive and very dangerous. I'd suggest you stay on his good side.
Extra: Sorry everything is so short... >.>------------------------------------------------------------------------------WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MEIt had been a long day on base. Danielle, Ratchet's daughter, had been attacked - again. He'd had to explain to a couple of people who will not be named that the rec room was not a sparring stage. Certain humans had been caught breaking rules, again. Perceptor had come to him with a request to follow through with an experiment of his, which, unfortunately, had to be denied. Prowl had given his weekly report, which always managed to make life harder, even though the poor mech tried his best.
He could go on and on, but right now... Right now was his long worked for break time. That little bit of time he gets at the end of the day to go outside and relax. How often did he take the time to do that? Never? That's what it seemed like. With a hefty sigh, Optimus turned toward the moon, looking at the bright night sky. It was so different here than it was on Cybertron. Oh, how he missed their home planet... But there was no hope for Cybertron. Not anymore.
This war had gone on for too long. He only wanted peace, but it seemed that Megatron was beyond that. There could only be one victor of this war, and hopefully the race wasn't wiped out by the end...
