Mission Plots/Group Threads

Well, a few of us agreed that more group oriented threads will make this site feel more involved and give a more over all focus on the Cybertronians rather than the crossovers we got going. I think more mission-based threads could be helpful. I wanted to do this on my Team Knight Rider site and its very effective - it brings all characters (including character types) together, and if someone doesn't wanna participate, they don't have to.

I have fun using my Knight Rider characters because in canon they were always out on missions investigating stuff and helping people out. I was thinking that perhaps we could have 'episode' threads where people can jump in to a completely open thread for whatever mission/story arc is planned. However, I'm pretty low on ideas.

Perhaps we should conjure up something for MECH, first and foremost, then go from there. Though there isn't a major problem with it, Spinback and I are the only members who actually RP characters from MECH. This was my way of contributing to the site.

Side plots, such as the thing going on with Starscream and Chainsmoker's little group or whatever you want to call them (xP) is good. Little things like that can light up bonfires if we work with it right. Another thing I wanted to do as a slightly less involved open thread idea was have Team C and whoever else wants to participate (such as Cira or Mike if i can get em in there) is rescue Oregon from the Cons so she doesn't have to try and escape herself. These are just some of the more minor ideas.

I really think we should focus more on what MECH will be doing - we could also use more spies like Alexis. I'm thinking of doing something similar with Interceptor in that regime. Which brings me to another idea -- on the old site, former admins wanted to do clones of one character and Interceptor, but there were a lot. Each represented different personalities and abilities. We could toss them in for added conflict or something, and I would NPC each of them and add their respective aspects to the original bio. But of course, they need a creator. I'd be willing to consider doing this too if you guys react positively to it.

I do agree that more group involved plots can be fun if done correctly, so long as people have the freedom to still do other things with their own characters, which I'm sure won't be a problem. I would like to see Starscream and Chainsmoker's group rise up and make the Autobots and Decepticons go,"Oh wtf... -_-" at the fourth faction that has come along or maybe they can become a group of rogues that are like thieves or something, I dono XD

I have several characters who can get involved in things. in fact, Dreadwing has been taking energon with LITTLE RESISTANCE (to those of you who want to stop him, PC me on the cbox and I'll point you in the right direction all "HE'S OVER THERE!")

By the looks of it, Pandora MAY go where ever KARR goes. Not sure how that will contribute anything. Also MECH could always hire Oklahoma, just to get him more involved somehow since I don't really want to make another character right now

Yeah. Well once more of my older threads move along, we can do some recruiting for various things (as discussed in chat).

Annnnd another thing I wanna add is I would like to make full use of Abyss's role. She is hired by contract, not by faction, and she will go after anyone (killing or otherwise) to get a job. She prefers to not kill, but she is very good at what she does, and will certainly kill if she thinks its worth it and there's good money.

I think that a few of these episodes could be very interesting. Quite honestly, I think the time we've spent without them has been pretty good, too, if only because it helped us to establish our characters a little bit. Now, honestly, a couple of mine - Thundercracker and Optimus, namely - don't have a lot going on yet, but I imagine Optimus will get really busy if we start doing this, and TC will have a few places to jump in - so, not only will it bring characters together, it'll get a few of them out of their little boxes. xD

I do believe that if we get NEST together, pitting NEST and MECH against each other will make a great story in the future. The only problem I have with that is, as Jetta said, that we don't have a lot of people IN MECH - though we do have a couple of fairly powerful ones. Now, Alexis has a couple more problems with that, but those problems are in her job description anyway, so she can suffer.

Besides that, I'm honestly in the mood for one of those stereotypical, slightly crazy Decepticon plots. Call me crazy, but if I recall correctly, the Decepticons are almost ALWAYS up to something - which I haven't seen a lot here. I mean, there's the occasional base attack, and the occasional small battle, but if we have a big battle, while I am a fan of the previously mentioned escalating wave of violence, I personally would like to come up with something a bit more hostile. Say, one side or the other comes up with a way to manufacture a potential energon-esc substance (other than the stuff that, as I've read, Ratchet once came up with...?), and the other side either wants the information, or DOESN'T want the first side to get it. It's a fairly stereotypical plot - as the Nostalgia Chick says, the general equation is that one side gets something, the other side doesn't want them to have it, and a fight ensues - however, that is something that I would be interested in. It doesn't JUST have to be that Idea, either, it could be just about anything.

Other than that, I'm all go for the Team C thing - except for the current hostility between Oregon and Kansas. That will either have to be settled first, or they're going to have to find a way to convince Kansas that's it's worth it so the two can kiss-make-up later. I'm not saying I don't like the plan, I'm just saying that that might be a bump in the road.

But yeah, that's... Pretty much all I've got.

I think we should do the G1 episode "Cosmic Rust".

Where Megatron gets the disease, Cosmic Rust, abducts Preceptor to take care of it. Megatron, upon being cured, dumps Preceptor out there and Preceptor spreads it to the rest of the Autobots.

This link to the Transformers Wiki gives a better description of the plot but...something like that?

Because I love that episode. Painful and slow deaths are my bread and butter.

Seeker doth approve the usage of this plot (the one Laula has), and Perceptor is willing - according to me, at least. *nodnod* Optimus is less willing, but hey, I don't really care, we're plotting, not him. So if anybody else is up for it, I think this would be a good TF based one. *nodnod*

Of course, it can't be exactly like the original episode for a handful of fairly obvious reasons, but this is a favorite of mine too - even if actually employing it as slightly sadistic. And, of course, it will open gateways to future conflict. Of course, there is the matter of "Scraping a sample off of something", but that could easily be settled by stating that there is a backup sample elsewhere - though it DOES eliminate the whole shooting at each other part of the episode, and the reason Perceptor would be brought in, instead of, say, using Shockwave to get a cure - unless Percy was brought in purely TO infect the Autobots. Now, there's that issue as well as the initial infection, however...

We should probably agree to do it before we get too in depth. xD

I third this. It will cause some drama among the Autobots, and a few Decepticons should get hit with it too to cause some 'OMG NUUUUUUU!' thing

Perhaps Percy was brought in purely to infect the Autobots? Or maybe he helps Shockwave and/or Knock out and/or Blindspot come up with a cure?

MECH could make the Cosmic Rust and release it on the Decepticons, somehow. Maybe catching a 'Con and releasing them again for that purpose for infection.

Some poor unfortunate soul or something.

Then it could include MECH.

Okay, so, as an edit to the original... MECH engineers the disease and infects the Decepticons. The Decepticons drag Percy in to ask for help (on the surface) - not realizing that Percy already has a solution - for the mere reason of infecting the Autobots. xD I should note that it has been suggested that GLaDOS bring him in, once she gets her robotic body, though that's up for discussion. Now, the Decepticons use up most of the formula Percy has, annnnnd then we run into another bumpy spot.

In the episode, when Percy is delivered back to the Autobots, he's set in a trap that firmly takes advantage of his alt mode. I would like to note that Percy is no longer a microscope, SO if the trap thing is kept, it will have to be a different trap - because I don't think SUV's are very good at focusing sunlight, and the Gray Percy in my backyard is inclined to agree with me. Heat, yes - sunlight, no.

ANYWAY, in taking a (possibly highly injured?) and infected Percy back to base, the infection won't have set in yet - which leaves PERFECT opportunity for it to spread around base. NOW the discovery, and the search for a cure. I'm not sure what Jetta would say, but something tells me the Medics will be the first to hop on that. Percy's lab sample of the corro-stop, however, will be the only cure. PROBLEM IS, it's the last of it - leading to the machine. That is, the one that Percy SO EXPERTLY kicks in the episode. Because Kicking is cool - like Fezes. Hmhm. SOOOO since that's a modified summary of the SHOW - minus the whole battle part (which, hey, that could be the trap!), I present it AS the potential plot. *nodnod*

I do like the idea. Perhaps we can pick other episodes too, we can modify them any way we like. After all, this is an alternate-universe site after season 2 - a lot of time has passed which means we got plenty of room to play with stuff. We could even take in other ideas from movies. I'll have to think about some of the movies I like and consider making suggestions for that. I'm sure there are options out there which can get NEST involved too >3.

I'm also kind of interested in the idea of a Dark-Energon related plot but that means potentially involving Unicron (not good) - but if there's a way around it, like another undead Cybertronian army or something, then maybe we should think about that too?

There's actually another G1 episode that might help with the undead army thing. It's a bit off, and Perceptor involved (again, I've been reading up on/watching his stuff all day) Called "Dwellers in the Depths". I don't think it involves dark energon, but you might be interested in looking it up. I need to watch it again, but it DOES involve energy vampires - which are really more like zombies - made out of the Cybertronians. xD Arcee was amongst the first victims, actually.

It DOES, however, take place on Cybertron, which is one MAJOR thing that we'd have to tackle. This is the link to an episode summary, and may provide some useful information. I'm not sure if you'd be particularly interested, but it IS an alternative. (And yes, that is a picture of Arcee shooting Galvatron's cannon. >.> No matter how dirty that sounds.) Anyway, I'll go actually watch the episode - I might be able to provide a bit more information then. xD

Well with the Cosmic Rust idea, if the Autobots are desperate for a cure (which I'm sure they will be) then they can go looking in the Decepticon base to see if any are left over? Skybourne could help with that, considering her double agent status.

One of my favorite TF episodes was episode 50, called "Prime Target". That's the one where the Russian hunter captures some Autobots to lure in Prime and tries to kill him to mount his head on a wall. We could replace the Russian with MECH, and instead of trying to use his head as a trophy, they're using the Autobots to develop better weapons, and Optimus being the hero he is, comes to save the day with the leftover Autobots. Eh, plotting isn't my strong point.

That twist to the Cosmic Rust thing IS a valid point - on that was ACTUALLY addressed in the episode (Shocking, right?), though, of course, we could pull that particular twist here. Of course they'd aim for more than one way to cure - however, it should be noted that whatever the Decepticons would have left will be very, VERY highly protected, and there likely won't be much, AT ALL. They won't want to keep much on hand, lest they risk the Autobots getting a hold of it. Besides, thanks to GLaDOS, they have something that will replicate materials already, so if they ever need more, they need only talk to her - or Shockwave, of course. So, while that IS a valid point, there are also a few counterpoints to be taken into account. That CAN make an interesting side-plot to the main story, but I DON'T see it being highly plausible in the main story, unless the Decepticons pulled a dumb move. No matter how trusted Skybourne is, taking a large amount of the stuff off base would arouse suspicion - especially if she came back with none, or very little. So, while that does make a point, there are a lot of things to be considered!

ALSO NOTED - "Prime Target" is an EXCELLENT episode, WHICH IS LINKED HERE, though it IS VERY Optimus central. If we used MECH instead, I really don't see them laying all of the traps used in the episode - they'd be more to the point about it, or so I'd imagine, but the idea of Prime coming to kick ass is one idea that I really like. Of course, I doubt we'd have much trouble finding Prisoners - have I mentioned that Percy has a reputation for it? - or people to come in and help out. Again, this, too, is an episode I'll have to rewatch - this and "Dwellers in the Depths" if people are interested in those plots. In fact, just about ANY G1 episode, I would be GLAD to regear for us. *wink* ... Other series, however, you're out of luck.

Since I'm essentially in charge of MECH currently, I'm sure we can come up with a happy medium for their involvement.

If searching needs to be done on the Nemesis, KITT can probably manage to help out unless he gets spotted by Soundwave, because he can change his color to look like a drone, and the only real difference is in some of his build and the way the scanner covers his face plates. It's a possibility. Interceptor is also good for anything stealth oriented. So depending on the environment, I'll be willing to offer either.

As for medics, I now have Moonlight as well. Seeker, since you're more knoweldgeable on G1, I may need your help with some of this. I wont have time to get this started till two weeks from now, but if we're willing to wait, we could try our initial idea with the Cosmic Rust issue. And see where that goes. But before it's considered, who is going to be responsible for it?

I was also thinking that there could be a massive team effort from MECH in capturing Optimus, if Seeker is up for it - and that would require a pretty intensive rescue from the Autobots...

I think some of this can be cool to do. Honestly I have someone in MECH (Church mainly). I think what would be kinda cool if the rvb characters may have some episodes of their own that could intertwine with what the transformers are doing. x3 Sorry. I see alot of things talked about the transformers and didnt want RvB to feel felt out.
