Carolina watched KITT's reaction to the term AI carefully. So at least this one was an AI, apparently - but did that speak for the other one, too? Or the ones in the security room? Were they all AIs, or just some of them? This, honestly, brought up more questions than it solved. However she'd piece things together eventually. "The Artificial Intelligences used by the BWC were all split off of one - the Alpha. They were not full personalities, but they were supposed to make us better... But not every AI - Freelancer combination was stable. In fact, very few of them were." After that, she decided to move on. The BWC AIs... they were a bit of a sore topic for her.

"And yes, they've been disbanded. I made sure of that personally. Anyway, I'd like to say that he's a good guy - he used to be on my team, after all - but all things considered, he's spiraled downhill recently. I know about as much about him as you do at this point." She shrugged lightly, shaking her head a bit, before, once more, continuing. "And why did I come here? Why wouldn't I come here? Do you have any idea how rich a target this place is? It's unknown, unregistered, and for all intents and purposes, non-existent. And yet, here I am, talking to a giant robot. Was my curiosity really so unfounded?"

If KITT was really going to try to get them to keep her here until they were sure nobody would attack, it would be a very, very long time before she got freedom again - unless they let her help them, but, really, while that would be in her best interest, it would not be in theirs. No, she would likely be caged. At least she'd get regular food, though - that was always a bonus.

"No, not at all." KITT shook his head in sincerity. "Based off what I have now learned from you, I am put more at ease." KITT would know that she was lying, because he had just learned just about all the tell tale signs of lying early on - wavering voices, certain eye movements and gestures, the works. Carolina betrayed none of these things, and if it counted for anything from an AI vehicle such as himself, it definitely made him feel more at ease. "However, this does not alleviate you from your time in the brig. We cannot let you go freely until we decide to let you go or wait for someone to get you. But I expect your time here will be short. I hope you understand. It is for our own precaution. And I must verify with the leader first."

Carolina's voice turned ever so slightly dry at that. She hadn't been expecting them to let her go free, but the idea of trapping her in a cage like an opossum in a trailer park was not particularly appealing. "I hardly expected to be let free." With a slight sigh, she shook her head - she was still a bit antsy from breaking in, and wanted to walk around anyway. Actually, she wanted to run, but she wasn't sure she'd get that chance. She really, really wanted out of here - but she wanted questions answered more, and, even more than that, she wanted to make up for her transgression against such friendly bots as these.

"If you don't mind my asking... Is that blue and red one that was with you the leader? Or just a higher up?" She wasn't sure if her question would be answered, but she was curious - and she had gotten brief glimpses of information, which had done little to appease her curiosity. If a robot was the leader of the operation, then this was really much stranger than she had thought - but it might very well be worth getting involved in - at least then she'd have something to do. She felt very lost when she had nothing to do - all thoughts and no real action. She could be patient, but not patient enough to waste her life away. No, this was definitely the kind of thing that Carolina was interested in.

"Yes, in fact. Since I came here, it is part of my duty to help monitor the base, and that is why I was the first to encounter you. Our backgrounds differ completely, but we seem to work together decently. And I am grateful to have joined his services, in all honesty." No, KITT didn't mind sharing the information. He was more relaxed now, and figured there couldn't be any harm in giving tidbits of information. Carolina seemed genuinely curious, and he respected that curiosity. He did not feel the same tension he'd felt when he'd seen the memory footage of what happened to Danny and Ratchet during that ever so brief skirmish, so he figured that it couldn't hurt, right?

"You said you took part in disbanding the so-called Black Water Corporation. Whoever the leader was, I presume you meant he is dead?" KITT added hopefully.

It sounded like they had a good leader, if he/she/it could keep these robots of different backgrounds together - which, quite frankly, was the strangest thought she'd had in a long time. Giant robots. Huh. Giant robots, with varying backgrounds. Varying backgrounds... So, it was definitely highly probable that they weren't all AIs. In fact, considering the stress on 'different backgrounds' it was highly probably that the one she was talking to was a special case.

"Yes, the Director is dead." Her voice had a certain gravity to it, a certain finality, her expression serious, her eyebrows set - anyone who knew anything about human expression could tell that it was a topic that she took fairly close to heart - and she did. After all, she WAS the one that had killed the man, and for very specific reasons. He had been one of the people that she had aimed to kill - and the other had proved a hard target. This did not surprise her - but she was used to hard missions.

She wasn't sure exactly what would happen next, but whatever it was, the red head was ready for it - she'd wait it out, and strike it as it came.

"Well, thank you for clarifying that. That bit of information will relieve many of us, I am sure." KITT replied, now wondering if they would ever figure out what to do with this other "problem" Freelancer. "I do believe there is little else to be discussed. We will make sure you are fed properly during your stay here until we contact someone else from your organization, or until someone comes to get you. I hope that deal is acceptable, even if it is not ideal." To KITT, it seemed like a damned good deal, given the fact that he and the others here had just recently learned about the Cybertronians AND/or those from BWC Spartan projects alike.

The redhead nodded, eyes close for only a brief moment. Thank god they were feeding her; it had been hard to get a good meal recently. Simply being given food, that was nice. It was hard to do much with a bounty on your head, and getting a 'normal' job would not only leave her vulnerable, it would be... Boring. Absolutely, skull numbingly boring. It seemed her life had fallen through the cracks, and now she was going to be locked up in a secret facility that, theoretically, nobody knows about, and have to wait for somebody to figure out about it to get out. But at least she was getting food. There were definite pros and cons to this - and she was pretty sure that she'd want to try to get in with these guys even after she got out. Whatever they were here for, it seemed like the kind of place she wanted to be. But until then... Well, she could be locked up for a long time, completely and utterly alone.

"Considering I expected death, I'll take whatever you'll offer."

[/color] Her tone was slightly dry, her expression flat, but her speech was accompanied with a shrug. Watching KITT for a reaction, she stood up, not moving away from her position, just getting out of the chair. It wass hard enough accepting that she got herself caught, even harder to realize that she could have easily avoided capture if she had tried a friendly approach. These bots seemed perfectly reasonable, and just as curious as she. "Are we done here, then?"[/color] She wasn't exactly eager to leave and get locked up, but she had always been the person that kept things moving, for one reason or another. Her tone wasn't rude, either - just inquiring. She was willing to answer more questions, but she wouldn't volunteer information; it was a happy compromise.[/size][/blockquote]

"Yes, we are. I will escort you to the brig. If we have any updates, I or one of the human operatives will notify you immediately." KITT replied, his holoform getting up and his Mustang form transforming. He gestured towards the door, actually trusting that Carolina wouldn't try to escape, particularly with her Suit now gone and at their temporary ownership. He was sure that she did not desire to be carried again. Though it was obviously not much of a struggle on his part, especially with her not being one of the larger humans, he didn't want to have to do it again.

Nodding slightly, Carolina proceeded to walk out the door calmly; she could tell already that these bots were not her enemies. There would be no point in pushing at this point, unless she actually had reason to tick them off, which she did not. However, the warrior she was, she retained her proud posture, even in the face of defeat. She would not admit psychological defeat, and to face defeat at the hands of one so friendly was far better than other situations she could have run into. Perhaps this wasn't so bad, in the long run.

So the redheaded warrior, stripped of arms and armor, made the walk of shame with pride still in her form. This was not a true defeat, not really. She had simply run into some intense miscommunication. She would have to wait for KITT to lead, though. She hardly knew her way around base. The best she had was logical guesstimates. So then, when they arrived... Then the wait began.

Not much else was exchanged after this, KITT completed his duties by escorting Carolina to the brig, then reported to Optimus after her armor was secured and stored. At this point in time, he wasn't sure of what to make of the random occurrences the Autobots were experiencing. Like the others, he wondered just how many there were of ones like Maine and Carolina, and he obviously hoped he didn't have to meet Maine any time soon. But nonetheless...

"We will check on you in a few hours. I will be doing some...research." KITT told her behind the closed cell.

Caged in. She already didn't like it... But she could think of this as a slightly more roundabout way to finish her self-assigned mission, even if it wasn't exactly a decision to be captured. Yes, she'd stay willingly... She wasn't a spy of any sort, and even if she were, she certainly wouldn't be doing work from the brig of her target; as such the conditions were... Substandard. Even though she'd been impressed by their hospitality so far, the realization that she'd failed - again - was starting to sink in, to add to that slowly growing pile of anger and despair in the back of her mind - the need to prove herself, again, if only to herself. Focusing on the... Altered reality of her 'mission', even if her mission was pretty much failed as it was, it gave her something to keep her admittedly tentative sanity afloat with, something to focus on, as she walked ever so calmly back into the cage. She'd been relaxed and civil only moments before, but suddenly she was tense... Tense, and ready to wait.

"I'll be here." She didn't intend to try to escape; she was too interested. For once, she was almost glad to be a prisoner - even if it meant she'd failed.
