Hello Falling Skies Community,
I understand that I was absent for two months due to boot camp. If my absence caused any sort of complications or setbacks, I both encourage you and request that you inform me.
Senior Members may have my number and text me whenever they like; whether it is to chat or notify me of any discrepencies. As I become busier with A-School I will chat less, but I will still handle problems of any sort or appoint a staff member to help you.
I can also be reached via Skype by everyone: irobashi-chronicles
I wanted to address the issue of inactivity. I was assured, that in my absence, Falling Skies would be taken care of.
I do understand that everyone is going to school and have activities in your lives sapping your time. I still find the inactivity of many unacceptable. Take no offense as you read the fine print. I am going to be respectful and fair, but firm.
On average, I get three hours of sleep a night. That is what the statistics say. What really happens is: some nights, many nights, there is no sleep. Five hours is the most I will have in a day and it may not be all at once. I was sneaking naps of ten to twenty minutes in a stall at Boot Camp to get those hours once in awhile. I am giving up my sleep for you. My time for getting after hours work done. My time for school. My time to eat. To shower. To train. Time to tend to injuries. Do I want a break? Hell no. This time is for you guys.
There is plenty more.
People here do go crazy. Someone in the Army decided to fly off his rocker not long ago at all. They don't appear to want to tell us who all died in the shooting. Or perhaps it's that no one will ask. I have to be gone a lot, and I know that. When walking to and from places I refuse to be on my phone, because we all need to lookout for one another.
People do die here, before they're even deployed.
I will also be gone during watches. I don't have cardboard cut outs standing guard like Chasm does.
So, my point;
No matter how busy life gets, the community carries the site. I expect everyone, not on approved leave, to check in. The Activity Check form is going to change. You can time to get on the site once every two weeks. Stop by, say hi, support new members and guests. If you're on your personal computer you can have this site open in another tab so that no one is left alone and/or confused.
