Spinback is a dork, and she likes doing dorky things. She also likes talking about herself in third person. HERE IS WHERE SHE WILL COMPILE A LIST OF SONGS THAT REMIND HER OF CHARACTERS. SOME OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE HERS, AND SOME ARE NOT. She will include explanations with each entry to show her reasoning for each song. Blindspot

• Careful by Guster (Blindspot is a worrier. His nurturing nature often leads him to be overprotective of people who don’t strictly need his protection, be it from physical harm or just the terrors of their own mind. The lines, “I’m ringing all the warning bells/Careful, or you’ll hurt yourself!” is something that exemplifies his attitude towards a lot of people: be they a comrade, a friend, a child, or even a lover. He can’t help it. He worries!)
  
• Galaxy Eater by Mayhem (Lapfox Trax) (This is Blindspot's theme for when his tires hit the road. In battle or in a race, he's fast, he's elusive, and he knows it, so he gets a bit cocky. This song has a lot of pinache, and I think it fits!)

• The Outsider by Marina and the Diamonds (The lyrics to this are pretty self-explanatory. Mitch is a person who prefers to do things her way, to avoid unnecessary affiliations. I anticipate that as she becomes more aware of the site's plot, she's going to ask herself the question, "Is there more to lose than gain/If I go on my own again?")

Soundwave

• Little Bird by Imogen Heap (This song seems very Soundwave-esque to me. It’s very soft and quiet, and in the beginning, it sounds very innocuous. It gradually begins to sound more and more sinister, culminating in the lines, “We smell rats in the kitchen.” It’s a very vague song, a song about someone watching someone else, and that embodies Soundwave’s silent vigilance very well, I thought.)

Windshear

• Kiss with a Fist by Florence + the Machine (Basically, Windshear's views on romance, heh. If he is ever lucky enough to find a mech that is receptive to his attention, then his courtship will probably involve lots of mutual punching.)
  
• Hit me by Klaypex. (I figure this song is more about Windshear seeking challenging opponents than about his masochistic tendencies. He loves fighting, loves proving himself, and is always looking for a challenge!)

• The Dog Days are Over by Florence + the Machine (Firefly is a character who has a lot of regrets, and whose currently lifestyle clashes with the life she wanted for herself. This song has a real sense of peril in it; in addition, the lines, in particular , “Run fast for your mother/Fast for your father/Run for your children/For your sisters and brothers/Leave all your love and your longing behind/You can’t carry it with you if you want to survive” reminds me of how she was forced to flee Paradron)

• Start Swimming by Delain (There are several points about this song that make me think of Kokoro. It is a rather mournful song in the beginning, harkening to the girl’s traumatic past. In particular, the line, “I’m waiting for myself,” seems to invoke her character, someone who waited for a long time for her life to properly begin. The rest of the song seems to personify her struggle with her inner complacency and her desire to be free, with the song ending with the singer starting to “swim,” in this case, Kokoro seeking her freedom and escaping the lab, which had been her “shore.”

• I am a Scientist by The Dandy Warhols (Heh, pretty self-explanatory. Perceptor lives on science alone.)

• Ghost by Little Boots (This song has a very eerie vibe to it, which suits Starclaw. IN addition, the lyrics fit her, I think. The lines, "It's true, you walk right through me" bring to mind her ability to become nearly invisible. The line, "It's true, I see right through you" highlights her crafty, manipulative side.)

• Devil's Dance Floor by Flogging Molly (This song has always made me think of a fight. In my mind, the “devil’s dance floor” described in the song is really a battleground, and it isn’t hard to imagine the lyrics describing a fight instead of a dance. It’s got a relentless pace to it, which makes me think of Abyss’s quick, ninja-like fighting style. Even though she spends her time in the Middle East rather than Ireland, I think it still could fit!)

• Bling, Confessions of a King by The Killers (First of all, this song has a real western vibe to it, which suits Tex very well, I think. This song, in general, is about someone fighting the odds to make it, facing physical and mental hardship, and goodness knows Tex has been through both, and will go through it again. Now time for lyric picking! “So I ran with the devil,” reminds me of Tex’s tendency to work for the highest bidder in order to make her way, in this case, MECH. The line, “So you sling rocks at the riptide” reminds me of her determination, despite odds being stacked against her, as well as the ending chorus. The way the final lines are spoken softly seem to be an secret admission--maybe deep down Tex does hope for peace, even if she never speaks of it to anyone.)

Goliath

• Weapon by Matthew Good (One aspect of this song that reminds me of Goliath is how even the singer’s voice is for most of it. It puts me in mind of his perpetual calmness. It’s also something of a mournful song, strangely enough, singing about someone or something that is clearly alive, but that is merely a tool. The lines, in particular, “And you breathe in, and you breathe out/For it ain’t so weird/How it makes you a weapon.” really exemplify this concept, and, I feel, pretty well personify Goliath.)
  
• You Know My Name by Chris Cornell (I think is is a really good song for Goliath. In the beginning, Goliath is little more than a mindless killing machine, and the opening lines, "if you take a life, do you know what you give?" makes me think of him making his first kill and deciding how he feels about it--and the rest of the song is how Jetta has more or less described how he feels about it, heh. Man, there's so much I wanna say about this song! It's sung from the point of view of someone unstoppable, which Goliath more or less is. Just a sampling of some lines that fit him: "Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you," "the coldest blood runs through my veins/you know my name" just seem to describe him very well. "If you think you've won/you never saw me change" makes me think of him deploying his mini-drones for the first time; Goliath has tricks up his sleeve! Just in general, I think this is a good song for him.)

• Stray Cat Strut (cover) by Reel Big Fish (This song has a lot of swagger, and so does Tucker, heh! Everything about this song seems to make me think of his self-assured attitude, especially regarding the “lady cats.”)

• In the Land of the Pigs, the Butcher is King by Meat Loaf (Heh, pretty self-explanatory. Megatron is absolute lord of everything he surveys. This song conveys a lot of power and a lot of disdain for humanity. It fits him quite well. Also, it's got a very harsh, powerful sound to it.

• Alive by Meat Loaf (This rockin' song is full of defiance, and that is something that it definitely shares in common with Mike. He never lets anything daunt him. It's very heroic, as well, which is another attribute it shares with Mike. He's been through hell, but he made it, and he's still kicking ass and saving the day!)

• Angel in the Dark by Nemesea (This song describes Twister rather well, I feel. She is someone who is haunted by a past she can’t seem to remember, a sense of wrongness that she can’t define. The song starts out very soft and sad, which is very effective for conveying vulnerability… and then kicks in and delivers a heavy, steady, kickass beat. I think it portrays those two sides of Twister quite well! In particular, the lines, “When will the light take over/these dark days/And will she ever wake/And know it is all a lie?” stick out. It's not a very FAST song, but it is a heavy one, and I think it embodies her mental struggle to remember quite well.)
  
• Unleashed by Epica (This is my song for when Twister realizes who she really is and what has really happened. This song has a much faster, more dynamic beat, and the lyrics are very suitable for someone in her position. The lines “Where am I meant to be/I feel I’m lost in a dream/Yearning only to be myself” in particular remind me of her. What must it be like to realize who you think you are is a lie? This song, I think, gives some idea.)

• Who You Are by Lunatica (It seems to me like this song was almost writter for Nightridge. She is a very conflicted individual, struggling between two sides of herself (the Autobot-inclined side and the Decepticon-inclined side). Pretty much this whole song, I think, with its powerful delivery, conveys this struggle.)

• Simple and Clean by Utada Hikaru (I can’t really explain exactly why this reminds me of Rin. Some of the implications of the song are vaguely romantic, but mostly I think the upbeat nature of this song conveys adventure, and Rin is certainly an adventurous young lady! In particular, the lines, “Regardless of warnings/The future doesn’t scare me at all/Nothing’s like before” make me think of her!)

• Meddle by Little Boots (This song has a very harsh, almost manic beat, which suits Crosswire’s less-than-stable sense of mind; in addition, there are quite a few lyrics that I think fit! “Don't meddle with her heart, meddle with her mind/Meddle with the things that are inside/You don't know what you'll find/You don't know what she hides” and, in particular, “So please understand if you take her hand/You'll get much more than you bargained for”. Basically, this is a song cautioning the listener about Crosswire.)

• For Reasons Unknown by The Killers (Vicky is a character that has gone through a lot of change, and has grown into a femme that she probably didn’t expect to be. Her life has been hard, and it has hardened her. This whole song seems to fit her, I think. The lines, “but my heart, it don’t beat/it don’t beat the way it used to” in particular remind me of her, as well as, “I look a little bit older/I look a little bit colder.” Sometimes it sounds like the singer is singing TO someone, and in my mind, that someone is Skyfox, the persona she left behind.)

Falling Skies General

• Read my Mind by The Killers (Pet Shop Boys Remix) 9This is a very mysterious song, a song that hints at characters and adventures, but never gives the full story. It sounds like a prologue to some grand tale that has yet to be told, and it just seems to fit, I think. Maybe I just have a soft spot for this song. :3)
