What's different about her is what she wears, and what she will probably be wearing for a long time, unless someone happens to find her. She has a white sleeveless top with the Aperture logo, and around her waist and covering her legs is what looks like some form of orange prison suit, a reminiscent of her previous stay at the testing facility. She also used to have a Portal gun, but that was left back at Aperture, and the Companion Cube was left outside the top entrance as a personal reminder of her journey.------------------------------------------------------------------------------YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH

Personality: Chell is, in a word, stubborn. Give her any sort of task and she absolutely refuses to give up, no matter how difficult or dangerous it might be. She will get it done, and she will get it done well, even if she has to have some irritating moron in the background or a strange voice from the speakers in the room. But when she's not solving puzzles, Chell can be a very nice person, so long as you don't irritate her or try to trap her in a room. She can get angry at that point, and more than once it's resulted in the humiliation of GLaDOS.
After a good few years of isolation, though, all this woman really wants is some human contact - to be told that she is not alone on this planet and does have someone that she can turn to for help, especially regarding her vocal condition. She learned sign language from a very young age because of this fact, but sometimes it can be hard to find someone that actually understands, especially since her only companion isn't exactly the brightest.
Strengths: As said before, she won't quit until something is done. She's fairly clever and creative, able to figure out routes that might not always be so obvious. She's also fairly athletic, demonstrated in some of the more difficult testing rooms of Aperture, where she was able to get to high places with relative ease, though most of that was thanks to the Portal Gun.
Weaknesses: Her one biggest weakness is her lack of voice. She was born with a problem in her vocal cords that could not be remedied, thus she was forced to use sign language from a very early age. She also hates being trapped or being alone - she's not so much afraid of it, but it may decrease her progress on whatever she happens to be doing.------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET
Family: Unknown. Either one of her parents was a former Scientist in Aperture, likely killed during one of GLaDOS' tests or with the other Scientists during the gassing of the facility.
History: Not much is known about Chell's past, aside from the fact that one of her parents was a Scientist working for Aperture Laboratories during her childhood. At some point in Chell's life, she was brought to a 'Bring Your Daughter to Work' day at the facility, creating potato batteries with other girls of her age. A few years later, she presumably came back to Aperture to see her parent, on the same day that GLaDOS went out of control. Placed into stasis by said parent, Chell was blissfully unaware of the damage that the AI caused, and the death of her parent.
What was possibly a few months, perhaps even a year later, she was awakened only to find GLaDOS in complete control of the facility. She was forced to undertake tests that got increasingly dangerous, even life threatening, and was intended to be killed at the very end. Unfortunately for the AI, Chell outsmarted her and, after making her way through the outer layer of the test chambers, found her and destroyed her. Or so she thought.
In the aftermath of the destruction and on the verge of unconsciousness, Chell was dragged back into the facility by a Party Escort Robot and placed into stasis once more. It was only 30 years later that she was awakened by Wheatley to aid him in an escape. They accidentally ended up reviving GLaDOS instead, and once again the young woman had to make her way through several testing chambers, all the while suffering verbal abuse from the angry AI.
Wheatley staged her escape after a good few chambers, though, and after cutting off her turret creation line and her neurotoxin emitters they went to confront her, removing her from her station and placing the little blue core there instead. Crazed by the new power, Wheatley betrayed Chell and after some unhelpful comments from GLaDOS sent them both tumbling into the lower depths of Aperture. After turning GLaDOS into a potato battery, of course.
Navigating these abandoned parts of Aperture proved to be a bit of a history lesson for them both, as they made a tentative alliance to defeat Wheatley, taking them back to when Cave Johnson ran the company. It turned out that GLaDOS was actually Caroline Johnson, Cave's assistant and wife, who had been uploaded into a computer to carry on the research after Cave died from moon rock poisoning. Apparently moved by this new knowledge, GLaDOS formed a more firm alliance with Chell before they faced off, and eventually defeated Wheatley, sending him spiralling off into space.
Chell was eventually released from Aperture when GLaDOS decided that she simply couldn't stay there due to their obviously conflicting personalities. She now simply wanders, hoping to find even some civilization in the hopes that she can now have a normal life. What she will find, though, is not what she expects.------------------------------------------------------------------------------IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?
