All AI history reflects the setting established with the shutdown of BWC. Not all of this will be 100% in line with canon history. I have picked out key bits of information for each AI based on the significance to their roles and behavior in the RP. If you got any comments or questions, feel free to address them. Intro’s are provided for each.
Gamma aka Gary
Ability: temporal manipulation.
Quote: “Perhaps this can be best explained in the form of a knock-knock joke.”
Fragment representation/personality: Deceit. Gamma is among the most confusing of the AIs. Clever like Sigma, he can easily mislead you in a game of wits, be it verbal or trickery in battle. He has an interesting sense of humor in comparison to the other AIs as well, and it is uncertain as to how he picked up on this humor, but one thing is clear – he does have a knack for adaptation since to be skillful in the art of deceit, you have to be ready to change your objectives unexpectedly.
History: In the beginning, Gamma had originally belonged to Wyoming. For unknown reasons, possibly discontentment and/or rebellion, Gamma had forcefully removed himself from Wyoming. This self-removal obviously caused some mental harm, but luckily for Wyoming, recovery was fairly efficient.
During the early years of the BWCs projects and their simulations, Gamma was guardian of “The Great Weapon” – which is concluded to be Tucker’s sword. He monitored the Troop’s progress in their simulations up to this point by occupying some of the computers in each base (so not just the Headquarters). To this day, he sometimes hops into other technologies but tends to stick close to Maine and the other AIs.
In early experiments, Gamma and Omega were used against the Alpha in the tests that were planned to fail. Since then, he has had an odd view of the world around him. Gamma was also the first to support Sigma’s ideas for getting Maine the other AIs in attempt to make the Alpha whole again. He was said to be the Alpha’s memory of deceit, but there is probably more going on with Gamma’s personality than just deceit. Some things are very clear though, he likes his knock knock jokes, and likes to mess with others’ minds.
Intro: (from the thread "Discoveries")
Gamma watched the fight between Maine and Oregon more closely than the others, hoping Zeta was one of the more cooperative ones. He knew Sigma would want her to join them as soon as possible, being the Alpha’s feminine side, she had an interesting reputation among most of the AIs, especially since she represented his instinct and intuition. In fact, Sigma was urging them to help Maine as he fought to the best of their abilities. “Let’s do the time warp.” Maine appeared to flicker again as he moved to another location, the AI appearing near Oregon temporarily. Since the events seemed appropriate, he took the opportunity to speak up.
Sigma
Ability: speed enhancement? * please correct me if I’m wrong on this
Quote: “We are the Meta, and we will find you. Very soon.”
Fragment representation/personality: Creativity. Not only is Sigma creative, but he has a cold and vindictive side to his personality. Even his voice has a slight creepy ring to it. Along with creativity comes his tactfulness and manipulative ways, which can easily be translated into deceit perhaps that outmatches Gamma’s in some cases.
History: Said to be Delta’s brother, Sigma was created after Gamma. Sigma tells Carolina about Tex’s AI, making her believe she is weaker without it. This causes Carolina to demand two AIs, and what stirred trouble from Maine. She gave Sigma to Maine prior to asking for two AIs to aid Maine with his communication problem.
Once with Maine, he and Gamma liked to convince Maine that he is innocent for the damage done to the others by putting all the blame on Carolina. They convinced him that their intentions were pure, that the desire to be whole was natural – in turn, he was assured he would gain considerable power from acquiring the other AIs and their abilities even though there would be some turbulence along the way. In some of the Director’s journal entries, it was also explained that some of the AIs pursued or secretly desired a term called “metastability” – a belief that they could be almost human. How this works or what the ideal result is to an AI is uncertain, however.
