Main Account: Spinback
Other Characters: Blindspot, Windshear, Breakdown, Soundwave, Isaac Fletcher------------------------------------------------------------------------------WHO ARE YOU?
Name: Richard “Dick†Simmons
Nicknames: Simmons
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Route: COMPUTERS
Status: Currently unaligned and on the run, but has strong Autobot sympathies.------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE DETAILSAt first glance, Simmons seems to be your average male of his age. A bit pale-skinned, with short-cropped sandy-blode hair and green eyes. Compared to some of the bulkier soldiers, Simmons looks a little on the skinny side, but he’s been through the same combat training as the rest of them, and he has a reasonable amount of muscle tone.
Close observation will reveal a fine network of pale scars, though. Underneath his skin--a hefty amount of which is synthetic--Simmons has been heavily modified. A large percentage of his body has been altered through necessity, including most of his bone structure and his respiratory system. Because of the sophisticated technology at their disposal, Simmons suffers very little ill effects from being a cyborg, and in fact enjoys a few benefits.
His voice is pretty standard-fare, but it can climb up into the higher octaves when he’s stressed or exasperated.------------------------------------------------------------------------------YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH
Likes:
- Computers. Simmons feels more at home with electronics than he does with other people. He understands them better.
- At times, Grif. Though he’ll probably never admit it out loud, Grif is his best friend.
- Being recognized for his achievements.
- A hard day’s work. He genuinely enjoys the satisfaction that comes from knowing he’s done his best.
- Since he’s gotten his first taste of it, alien technology. It’s fascinating to him.
Dislikes:
- At times, Grif. His laziness can be honestly irritating.
- Being in the thick of a battle. He can handle himself in a fight, especially with his cybernetic implants, but the stress often hampers his ability to fight.
- Not being recognized for his contributions.
- Being ignored in general. He’s somewhat insecure.
- The complications that arise with his newly-modified body. His cybernetic components require a lot of care and maintenance, and since Simmons is dutiful, he does keep up with them, but it really cuts into his free time.
Personality: Simmons is a good soldier. He is dutiful, intelligent, and good at following orders. He is more often than not the voice of reason in any given situation, with the tendency to keep his grasp on what’s “normal†when everyone around him has seemed to have lost their minds. He has a very healthy work ethic, and finds satisfaction in performing taxing tasks to the best of his ability. His tendency to play by the book and do his best often get him labeled as a “butt kisser.â€
He is relatively close to his team. He looks up to Sarge and is eager to please him, seeing the older man as something of a father figure. His loyalty can often blind him to the fact that Sarge’s plans are usually... less-than-effective. He’s clicked nicely with Donut, since the two of them share a general enthusiasm for their job, and they get along relatively well. His most complicated relationship is with Grif. Despite the fact that they are very different, the tow of them have somehow become rather close friends, even though they bicker like an old married couple.
They balance one another well, and Simmons genuinely cares about Grif’s well-being, even if he doesn’t always show it.
Strengths: Simmons is highly intelligent and quite skilled with various forms of technology. He approaches most problems logically and efficiently. He also has a generally decent grasp of most sciences. His cybernetic implants also lend him some extra physical strength; they’re very new, so he hasn’t had time to test their abilities or improve upon them, but he plans to. He is generally easy to get along with, and can be counted on to get the job done.
Weaknesses: He doesn’t usually stand up to pressure. Despite his abilities, he would prefer to avoid a fight rather than engage in one... And sometimes when he does find himself engaged in one, he still tries to escape. He tends to hold others to his own standards of work ethic, which can lead to snappish behavior if he thinks anyone else is being “lazy.†He’s also insecure, and constantly seeks acceptance and recognition, and this can be a bit annoying.------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET
Family: Unknown
History: At some point during his service to the Black Water Corp, Simmons was badly wounded when an experiment involving newly-developed munitions technology went horribly wrong. It is only the swiftness of his teammates and the scientific genius of the medical staff employed there that saved his life with cybernetic implants. He now dual-functions as a soldier and something of a guinea pig, since much of the technology used to rebuild him is experimental.
Simmons fled the Black Water Corporation with his compatriots when he found out exactly what was going on with the entire AI fiasco. His history before that is a mystery. Simmons was particularly worried about being tracked down because a large percentage of his body happened to be made of classified Black Water tech, so he has taken extra pains to remain incognito.
He has only recently discovered where his former allies have congregated, and has been carefully making his way across the country towards the mysterious base…------------------------------------------------------------------------------IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?
Extra: Simmons doesn’t belong to me! He belongs to Rooster Teeth. I’ve just adapted him for use in this RP. I hope I can do the guy justice!------------------------------------------------------------------------------WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MERichard Simmons was not in a good mood. Part of this had to do with the fact that it was unseasonably hot out here on this stretch of road in Arkansas. The weather, coupled with the fact that the beat-up old vehicle he was driving had no air condition, were definitely contributors to his bad mood.
Mostly, though, he was irritated because of the headache.
When Simmons had fled the Black Water testing ground, he hadn‘t had time to take much with him. He had his suit (safely packed in the back seat in a series of battered, nondescript suitcases), a few weapons, and a field med-pack, but that was it. Most of the other candidates wouldn‘t need more than that, but Simmons had an additional problem to deal with: his implants. His suit was designed to take care of some of the maintenance, and he required daily medication to keep the respective halves of his body working in harmony.
He had to skip every other day as of now in order to make the medication last, and now he had a headache.
He had no idea what that meant.
It could be as simple as a bit of withdrawal, or… or it could be something terrible happening to him. Simmons‘s fingers gripped the wheel tighter. It was upsetting, but there was simply nothing he could do about it. What other option did he have? Go back?
If this lead proved to be a dead end--if his comrades hadn‘t regrouped at this mysterious base... Then he might have to. He tried not to think about that, and kept his eyes on the road.
